Fatal Shooting Investigated In Camden

Detectives are investigating the killing of a 28-year-old Camden County man, authorities said.

Santino Thomas of Sicklerville was shot dead on Thursday night, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Police officers responded to the 1300 block of Browning St. in Camden for a ShotSpotter activation around 9 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground between two cars suffering from a gunshot wound, Mayer and Rodriguez said.

Thomas was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead around 9:30 p.m., they said.

Detectives are currently working to identify any potential witnesses and searching for evidence that could help determine what led up to the shooting, the prosecutor said.
